Billboard’s Woman of the Year is back at it again with the album teases.
In a tweet on Sunday (Nov. 18), Ariana Grande thanked fans for making her song “Thank U, Next” — which currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 — certified platinum.
Following the appreciation, the 25-year-old pop queen gifted fans with a way to celebrate.

Joy and gratitude isn’t always relatable, but from the moment Grande surprise-released the song, the public seemed to identify with her position, streaming the track 55.5m times in the first five days and earning Grande her first No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Despite trends towards songs that are kind of a bummer, it seems audiences are hungry for a tune about boundless, unapologetic positivity. Only an artist like Grande could have pulled it off.

Gifted all the power that comes with having a No. 1 song, Ariana Grande has decided to insert herself into all of her favorite movies — which, if you are an Ariana Grande fan, are also probably all your favorite movies. After paying homage to The First Wives Club on Ellen, Grande has started to tease a few more movie reenactments.

Just before midnight on Saturday, November 3rd, the pop auteur Ariana Grande unexpectedly released a new single, the twinkling “thank u, next.” Unannounced song drops are less surprising than inevitable in pop music these days, and not all of them stick the landing. Grande’s track found immediate resonance.

“thank u, next” now becomes Ariana’s longest running No.1 song here in Australia, as its second week at the top is twice as long as her former No.1 “No Tears Left to Cry” (TW-76), and it takes her tally of weeks at No.1 here to now three in total. placing her equal 27th on the list for ‘Accumulated Weeks at No.1: Singles; 2010’s’ alongside the three racked-up weeks from Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and M0 this decade, while the song after three weeks of charting is now Gold

[Verse 1]
Thought I’d end up with Sean
But he wasn’t a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete, I’m so thankful
Wish I could say, “Thank you” to Malcolm
‘Cause he was an angel

[Pre-Chorus]
One taught me love
One taught me patience
And one taught me pain
Now, I’m so amazing
Say I’ve loved and I’ve lost
But that’s not what I see
So, look what I got
Look what you taught me
And for that, I say

[Chorus]
Thank you, next (Next)
Thank you, next (Next)
Thank you, next
I’m so fuckin’ grateful for my ex
Thank you, next (Next)
Thank you, next (Next)
Thank you, next (Next)
I’m so fuckin’—

[Verse 2]
Spend more time with my friends
I ain’t worried ’bout nothin’
Plus, I met someone else
We havin’ better discussions
I know they say I move on too fast
But this one gon’ last
‘Cause her name is Ari
And I’m so good with that (So good with that)

[Pre-Chorus]
She taught me love (Love)
She taught me patience (Patience)
How she handles pain (Pain)
That shit’s amazing (Yeah, she’s amazing)
I’ve loved and I’ve lost (Yeah, yeah)
But that’s not what I see (Yeah, yeah)
‘Cause look what I’ve found (Yeah, yeah)
Ain’t no need for searching, and for that, I say

[Chorus]
Thank you, next (Thank you, next)
Thank you, next (Thank you, next)
Thank you, next (Thank you)
I’m so fuckin’ grateful for my ex
Thank you, next (Thank you, next)
Thank you, next (Said thank you, next)
Thank you, next (Next)
I’m so fuckin’ grateful for my ex

[Post-Chorus]
Thank you, next
Thank you, next
Thank you, next
I’m so fucking—

[Bridge]
One day I’ll walk down the aisle
Holding hands with my mama
I’ll be thanking my dad
‘Cause she grew from the drama
Only wanna do it once, real bad
Gon’ make that shit last
God forbid something happens
Least this song is a smash (Song is a smash)

[Pre-Chorus]
I’ve got so much love (Love)
Got so much patience (Patience)
I’ve learned from the pain (Pain)
I turned out amazing (Turned out amazing)
Say I’ve loved and I’ve lost (Yeah, yeah)
But that’s not what I see (Yeah, yeah)
‘Cause look what I’ve found (Yeah, yeah)
Ain’t no need for searching
And for that, I say

[Chorus]
Thank you, next (Thank you, next)
Thank you, next (Thank you, next)
