August – Taylor Swift

There is a collection of three songs that I refer to as The Teenage Love Triangle. These 3 songs explore a love triangle from the perspectives of the three people at different times in their lives. '' Taylor explained.

Swift became the first artist to debut at the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 album chart, thanks to the sound of Folklore, an indie-folk record, and the first to be categorized on the Billboard and iTunes charts as “alternative.” The 16 songs represent a change in sound in large part due to The National’s Aaron Dessner, who produced and co-wrote the majority of the album alongside Swift and Jack Antonoff.    Folklore is unlike anything Swift has done before, it is in a way a return to popular roots, she was already trying alternative songs during her Fearless era in 2008.
Following the release of Folklore, “Safe & Sound”, the song that accompanied Swift in 2011 with The Hunger Games, was referred to as her closest sonic sister.

Taylor Swift Folklore: The hidden story in three of her songs

Taylor Swift has surprised fans with the release of her 8th studio album, Folklore. The singer, 30, only released her seventh studio album Lover last year on August 23, 2019. Speaking about her new album, Taylor said: ‘Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the “perfect” time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed.

Folklore feels especially unexpected, as their previous two albums were characterized by public and sonorous revivals with many advancements. Her reinvention skills have even inspired others, like the conceptually acrobatic Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, who did a dancefloor remix of “Slow Disco” after Swift suggested “a pop version” to her. common friend Antonoff. The connection apparently led the trio to collaborate on Lover’s standout “Cruel Summer,” a synth-pop explosion in which Clark co-wrote and played guitar. While Swift’s reimagining of Earth, Wind & Fire “September” for Spotify Singles wasn’t loved by everyone, her dreamy arrangement of banjo specks certainly reaffirmed her roots.
Folklore is a stylistic revision that might have been polarizing were it not for the singer’s chameleon abilities. Swift noted in her album ad that “if you do something you love, you should put it out there in the world.”

Taylor Swift’s new album ‘Folklore’: the hidden meanings and Easter eggs

Words: Hannah Mylrea and El Hunt And just like that, with very little teasing and absolutely no promotional campaign, Taylor Swift has released her new record ‘Folklore’. Written during lockdown, the pop star’s eighth album sees her take a trip to a metaphorical cabin in the woods where she collaborated virtually with The National and Bon Iver.

Taylor Swift

In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result, a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness. Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve.

August – Taylor Swift

[Verse 1]

Salt air, and the rust on your door
I never needed anything more
Whispers of “Are you sure?”
“Never have I ever before”

[Chorus]

But I can see us lost in the memory
August slipped away into a moment in time
‘Cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
August sipped away like a bottle of wine
‘Cause you were never mine

[Verse 2]

Your back beneath the sun
Wishin’ I could write my name on it
Will you call when you’re back at school?
I remember thinkin’ I had you

[Chorus]

But I can see us lost in the memory
August slipped away into a moment in time
‘Cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
August sipped away like a bottle of wine
‘Cause you were never mine

[Bridge]

Back when we were still changin’ for the better
Wanting was enough
For me, it was enough
To live for the hope of it all
Canceled plans just in case you’d call
And say, “Meet me behind the mall”
So much for summer love and saying “us”
‘Cause you weren’t mine to lose
You weren’t mine to lose, no

[Chorus]

But I can see us lost in the memory
August slipped away into a moment in time
‘Cause it was never mine
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets
August sipped away like a bottle of wine
‘Cause you were never mine

[Outro]

‘Cause you were never mine
Never mine
But do you remember?
Remember when I pulled up and said “Get in the car”
And then canceled my plans just in case you’d call?
Back when I was livin’ for the hope of it all, for the hope of it all
“Meet me behind the mall”
(Remember when I pulled up and said “Get in the car”)
(And then canceled my plans just in case you’d call?)
(Back when I was livin’ for the hope of it all, for the hope of it all)
(“Meet me behind the mall”)
Remember when I pulled up and said “Get in the car”
And then canceled my plans just in case you’d call?
Back when I was livin’ for the hope of it all (For the hope of it all)
For the hope of it all, for the hope of it all
(For the hope of it all, for the hope of it all)
