Miranda Lambert’s Wildcard album is the first since The Weight of These Wings from 2016. “Bluebird” reflects on the inner tranquility that helps her survive tough times. The song came to life, with the help of Luke Dick and
Natalie Hemby.
Luke texted me and said something about keeping a blue bird in your heart. He said, “I want to write that with you, because I feel like that’s what you did. And it’s what I feel like we all do.”

Miranda Lambert’s “Bluebird” is not the title track on their new studio album, but lyrically, the gentle walker inspired the title, Wildcard.
Lambert stays ahead of the current of life during “Bluebird”. Jay Joyce’s arrangement with guitar and drums is reminiscent of the light singer-songwriter style featured on Revolution, her groundbreaking 2009 album.

In her music video for the Wildcard song “Bluebird” directed by Trey Fanjoy, Miranda Lambert puts on blue feathers and sits inside her own aviary stage, surrounded by an audience that seems straight out of Moulin Rouge! It is an appropriate visual for the song, paying homage not only to the royal blue birds, but also to the Bluebird Café in Nashville, a place known to emerging talents and established artists in the city.

Lambert’s Wildcard, released last year, is nominated for ACM Album of the Year, and Lambert is nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year (for her song “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” with Maren Morris, Elle King , Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes, and Caylee Hammack.) The ACM Awards announced that they would be delayed until September, as the music community and the world at large are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

Bluebird – Miranda Lambert

[Intro]Ooh
Ooh

[Verse 1]Yeah, I’m a turner
I turn pages all the time
Don’t like where I’m at
34 was bad, so I just turn to 35
Yeah, I’m a keeper
I keep digging down for the deep
Like the records I’m playing
They might keep you waiting
But you know I’m only playing for keeps

[Chorus]And if the house just keeps on winning
I got a wildcard up my sleeve
And if love keeps giving me lemons
I’ll just mix ’em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singing
And all the stars go dark
I’ll keep a light on in my soul
Keep a bluebird in my heart

[Post-Chorus]Ooh
Ooh

[Verse 2]Well, I’m a giver
Yeah, and I’m still giving ’em hell
Forgiving’s pretty hard
So I made an art out of forgettin’ ’em well
Yeah, I’m a rhymer
I can turn 20 cents into a 10
And if I get confused and I start to lose
I rhyme a dime ’til it all makes sense

[Chorus]And if the house just keeps on winning
I got a wildcard up my sleeve
And if love keeps giving me lemons
I’ll just mix ’em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singing
And all the stars go dark
I turn a light on in my soul
And keep a bluebird in my heart

[Post-Chorus]Ooh
Ooh

[Chorus]And if the house just keeps on winning
I got a wildcard up my sleeve
And if love starts giving me lemons
Just mix ’em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singing
And all the stars go dark
I’ll keep a light on in my soul
Keep a bluebird in my heart
I’ll keep a light on in my soul
Keep a bluebird in my heart
Keep a bluebird in my heart

[Outro]Ooh
And the bluebird sings
Ooh

Bluebird (Miranda Lambert song)

” Bluebird” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Miranda Lambert. It was released on December 9, 2019, as the second single from Lambert’s seventh studio album . The album was released on November 1, 2019.

“Bluebird” was directed by Trey Fanjoy and premiered on March 20, 2020. Lambert performs the song on a swing while inside a giant cage as viewers watch from their seats. Clips of a caged blue bird in front of an open window are interspersed with these scenes, and at the end of the video, the blue bird is shown flying as Lambert is seen emerging from his own cage and driving away through an urban alley. “Bluebird” was filmed at a nightclub in New York City over the course of eight hours, and featured Lambert in a dazzling feather dress and blue rhinestone eyeshadow gloves.
